In our company we have Raw material testing, Management, Production, Purchase and many more departments. This project helps them to manage all those departments under a single roof. All the purchase details will be managed in the purchase maintenance module. When a purchase order is generated the details of the order will be stored in a separate table. Raw material management module will help them to manage the raw materials in the company. When the raw material stock limit falls below the reorder level, this project will give a message to the administration.

            Production departments will manage the produced goods. After production, the goods will be sent to the testing department which will be managed by the testing module. Since all the modules are connected, this system reduces the paper works of the company.

The Project computerizes the entire activities involved in sales and servicing of a computer. The Product details contain the details about each and every type of computer that the company possesses.

Purchase details of the product and various transactions involved in purchase of a computer are maintained.

Sales details of each computer in the concern are also recorded. The Project also maintains the details about the suppliers of the company and the customer details.

Various reports like date wise customer, transaction report, product wise report, purchase and sales reports are generated.

This software is developed by using Visual Basic as Front-end and SQL-Server 2000 as the Back-end. The system can be implemented in windows platform, and data report is the reporting tool.

            This system is developed for a textile unit that takes coloring and printing orders from other manufacturing units or from buyers and they do the printing process and return back the garments and bill the producers based on the service they provide to them.

             In details the system computerizes the activities of taking orders from garment makers, getting approval on shade cards and designs, estimating the cost of orders, coloring, delivery of colored and printed materials and billing customers.

             The system is a modular system that includes modules like customer detail maintenance, cost estimation, order processing, order delivery and billing. The system is also capable of generating formatted reports that can be generated automatically with the click of a mouse button, with user-friendly and validated data entry.

The project titled “ONLINE APTITUDE TESTER” is developed to computerize the various activities involved in conducting a exam. The project will enable a user who has registered with the college to attend his examination through the computer. The objective of this project is to conduct an aptitude online in order to reduce human effort that is a software version of an exam.
The project consists of Administration and User.
The administrator can use all the option available in the software. He is the one who can view the details of the user who have attended the test, create and update subjects and questions belonging to a particular subject. The administrator can also view the results of all the users who have taken the test. All these are done by validated interfaces provided to the administrator. Password is provided for all the transaction so that administrator only can make changes in the project. Scoring pattern can also made dynamic as per the examiners will and fancy.
The user can register themselves and opt for the subject available in the software. They can then appear for the exam. Questions will appear for a fixed time and when the allotted time or the questions are over the result will be displayed automatically.

IT Project Guidance, tips, sample code

With IT boom India there are too many academic institutions offering IT education in India. Most them don't have expertise in the field. Students get disappointed in the end. Especially in a technical education like Information Technology practical knowledge is essential. During the final semester of Computer science / computer engineering courses students are required to complete software project. In bachelor degree like Bsc, BCA, BCom (CA) and engineering courses like BE, BTECH, MTECH, MCA students should complete a project.

The goal of project work is to enable students to complete a task on their own. Most of the students opt for paid projects, in which computer centers will sell them ready made projects. Students will waste 5 months of their project period and in the last 1 month approach a computer center in the city and purchase a ready made project. They don't even know in what language/platform the project was built. This is a pathetic situation. I am not blaming all students. Some bright students will do projects on their own. They will select a project theme/idea, select a programming language of their choice, design the front-end, back-end, coding etc.

The reason for other students opting of paid project is that they don't get enough guidance. Even though college/university will assign a project guide for each student, the guide is not much useful. All they won't give the students any guidance on selecting a project, giving technical help. Here also i am not blaming all lectures/professors. There are some exceptionally good professors those loved by students. But these are exceptions not rule.

In this blog i will give guidance to those students doing academic projects. I will give project idea / theme, guidance on selecting programming languages.
